History
The need for regional water supply coordination brought Consortium members together in 1997. Now a volunteer group comprised of 23 water providers in the Portland metropolitan area and the regional government Metro, the Consortium works together on critical water supply issues and is committed to being good stewards of our limited water resources.
Mission
The Consortium serves as a collaborative and coordinating organization to improve the planning and management of municipal water supplies in the Portland metropolitan region.
Strategic Goals
The Consortium takes ownership of and coordinates the implementation and revision of the Regional Water Supply Plan, as the agencies directly responsible for providing water supplies to customers.
We provide a forum for study and discussion of water supply issues of mutual interest, and we communicate adopted policy and strategies to the public, agencies and stakeholder groups.
We promote cost-efficient use of our water resources and wise stewardship and protection of those resources, to meet the values of our collective members and the needs of future generations.
